Women of Harsco (WOH), the company's first-ever employee resource group, participated in the Girl Scouts of Central Indiana’s Circle the City event. WOH team members went out of their way to reach the goal of inspiring each other to achieve more. Several women gathered at booths and organized games and recycling activities. Our teammates spent a Saturday talking to Girl Scouts about different career paths in STEM education.
STEM education is a teaching approach that combines science, math, technology, and engineering. The event was hosted by the Girl Scouts of Central Indiana at the Indianapolis State Museum.
This event was a reminder that getting out and serving the community can further professional and personal development. It was a meaningful day and a day well spent empowering young girls, young women, and individuals to reach their full potential.
Holly Gamage, Senior Director, Fullcircle said, “I encourage women to follow their passion but to also do a lot of listening. You can develop yourself while developing others. To be your best, you need to learn to walk in others’ shoes.”
We are proud of each of our colleagues who attended this event, and we are excited about future events through Women of Harsco that bring out the mission of promoting the advancement of women through personal development, mentorship, and empowerment.
